Rui Shi received his Ph.D. from the School of Chemistry at Sun Yat-sen University, China, in 2018 for his work on the Vacuum Ultraviolet (VUV)—UV spectroscopic study of lanthanide-doped materials. Following graduation, he continued his career as a researcher at the School of Physics at Sun Yat-sen University (China), the Department of Physics at the University of Aveiro (Portugal), and the Department of Materials and Environmental Chemistry at Stockholm University (Sweden), respectively, and he is currently a full-time researcher at the Department of Biological and Chemical Engineering at Aarhus University, Denmark. His current research interests are associated with the investigation of energy transfer dynamics in lanthanide-doped materials and the controllable synthesis of luminescent nanocrystals.
