Edmund Buehler Arc Melter MAM-1
The Edmund Buehler MAM-1 allows for arc melting, hence reacting and homogenizing, samples of 5-20g. For the arc melting process, samples are placed on water-cooled copper crucible plate with trough-shaped moulds. Temperatures of up to 3500°C can be realized during the melting process.
The melting chamber with the movable electrode is located inside a glovebox to allow for the synthesis of air-sensitive samples.
