Dr. Paterlini’s primary expertise is  in synthesis and characterization of luminescent materials. At Stockholm University, she is responsible for the spectroscopic characterization of several classes of compounds, such as ionic liquid based materials with lanthanides or transition metals and inorganic materials. She is also working on the synthesis of luminescent nanoparticles through a synthesis process involving ionic liquid.
